Alumaform specializes in innovative, custom-engineered overhead utility and communications solutions. They offer industry-leading fiberglass, aluminum, and apitong wood products for the electric utility and communications industries.  Alumaform, Inc. commissioned the design-build of this 80,000 sqft industrial manufacturing facility to house their expanding aluminum products division. Although this facility is quite large, convenience and ease of circulation were guiding factor of the design.  From the parking lot to work stations, much attention was given to how employees would interact with the new facility that would operate three shifts 24 hours per day.  Site lighting, video surveillance, fencing, and a dedicated guard booth allow for appropriate site access and security.  Project focus was centered on the 70,000 sqft of manufacturing space that included flex areas for a variety of work processes.  Four 24’ wide automatic bay doors are used to supply the manufacturing floor with oversized raw materials being brought from the exterior material yard by fork trucks. 8 dock doors, including pit-levelers and shelters, are strategically located to accommodate the vibrant shipping and receiving hub.  A convenient fork truck ramp is provided near the loading docks to allow for easy transition between the manufacturing floor and the exterior dock area. A dedicated research and development area is located near the manufacturing floor and has access to the exterior material yard. Just off the manufacturing floor, a 90-person breakroom equipped with a large kitchen, vending, and tables give employees ample space to relax with exterior views.  An outdoor eating area is provided adjacent to the breakroom for those who wish for a bit of fresh air. Employee locker rooms, showers, and restrooms are located near the breakroom. This area doubles for a safe room (designed to FEMA standards) utilizing the concrete and steel reinforced walls and roof.  Its intended use was to provide shelter for inclement weather or workplace violence.  Engineering and supervisor offices are grouped in this portion of the facility as well. Located at the front of the facility and separate from employee and manufacturing areas is the administration wing.   From the decorative main lobby to corporate conference room with custom furnishing, this is where all potential clients began their journey.
