We were part of the team that was awarded this design-build competition for a # 2 location for a municipal fire station for the city of Pontotoc. The fire station boasts two double height engine bays with thoroughfares for access from front and back. These custom bays include a tank-filling water station within, a customized exhaust system, firefighter gear & equipment racks. There is a decontamination room nearby and a compressor room for truck service.  The design celebrates the heightened space which allows for the sleeping quarters and full baths to be on the upper level above the bays in a quieter atmosphere that promotes rest and incorporates a custom fire pole for easy access to lower levels when necessary. The lower level includes a full kitchen, living area, indoor/outdoor dining options, and a small public meeting room that doubles as a classroom for training of the fire fighters.
